The hands-on workshop on photonic chip design using GDSFactory, hosted here at the University of Cambridge, will be led by Mark Cunningham in-person, a Solutions Engineer at GDSFactory. The founders all came from industry with experience at Intel, HP, PsiQuantum, and Google X. Since founding GDSFactory in 2019, the company has grown to over 3 million downloads, with adoption across more than 25 foundries and hundreds of organisations globally. Mark will be walking us through how to use GDSFactory and attendees will have the opportunity to work through a guided demo chip design gaining direct hands-on experience with the platform during the session.
GDSFactory is an all-in-one python-based platform supporting Photonics, Quantum, and MEMS design workflows.
In just one hour, you'll learn how to:
• Create layouts using Python-driven design
• Build a schematic, layout, and simulate the results to test performance
• Run Design Rule Checking (DRC) verification
